La Chiesa della Madonna del Rosario fu costruita dalla omonima confraternita belmontese del Santo Rosario, negli anni intorno al 1586, e fu poi rinnovata nella prima metà del secolo XVIII. La facciata a mattoni nudi ha un sovrapporto arcuato e due coppie di lesene laterali, raggiunte da una trave sotto il timpano, il quale ha al centro un finestruolo rotondo. L’interno è ornato con lesene dotate di capitelli e con cornicione, sopra al quale si innalzano le finestre. Ogni parete laterale è scandita in tre alte arcate.
La pala dell’altare maggiore, opera dei pittori fermani Filippo e Alessandro Ricci, è del 1750 circa. Vi sono figurati i santi Domenico di Guzman e Caterina da Siena, che invocano la Madonna e il divin Figlio, che porge il Rosario.
Ai lati di questa ancona, due dipinti rotondi raffigurano San Giuseppe di Nazareth e Sant’Andrea da Avellino. Alla parete destra, un’opera di G. Nunzi raffigura San Pacifico da San Severino Marche. Il quadro fu donato nel 1857 da don Filippo Corsi.
Nell’altare a destra, il dipinto raffigura il francescano San Giuseppe da Copertino. L’opera fu realizzata da Michelangelo Michelini da Belmonte, nell’anno 1756, come copia di un dipintodello stesso santo, esistente ad Osimo.
Alla parete sinistra, una tela di ignoto marchigiano del secolo XVIII raffigura i santi Filippo Neri, Carlo Borromeo e Pietro da Verona, che adorano lo Spirito Santo, figurato nel simbolo della colomba.
Nel retrofacciata, si notano i Crocefissi usati nelle processioni. Il pievano Don Biondi procurò i quattordici quadri della Via Crucis, con stampe policrome della seconda metà del secolo XIX, e fece realizzare il nuovo pavimento marmoreo.
The “Madonna del Rosario” church was built by the Belmonte fraternity of the same name, around 1586. It was renovated in the first half of the 18th century. The bare brick façade has an arched doorframe and two pairs of side pillars, linked beneath the gable, which has a round window in the middle.
The interior of the church is ornate; it has pillars decorated with capitals and a cornice, above which tower the windows. Every side wall has three pronounced arches.
The altarpiece of the high altar is the work of the Fermano painters Filippo and Alessandro Ricci, and was created around 1750. It portrays the saints Domenico di Guzman and Catherine of Siena, who invoke the Madonna and Divine Son; the latter is holding a rosary.
On either side of this masterpiece, two circular paintings show St Joseph of Nazareth and St Andrew of Avellino. On the right wall, a Painting by G. Nunzi portrays St Pacifico of San Severino Marche. The painting was donated to the church by Don Filippo Corsi.
On the right of the altar, there is a painting of the Franciscan monk St Joseph of Copertino. It was painted by Michelangelo Michelini of Belmonte, in 1756, as a copy of an existing painting of the same saint which can be found in Osimo.
On the left wall, a painting by an unknown Marche artist portrays the saints Filippo Neri, Carlo Borromeo, and Pietro of Verona, who can be seen praising the Holy Spirit symbolised by a dove.
On the rear façade, crucifixes used for processions can be found. The parish priest Don Biondi obtained the fourteen paintings of the Via Crucis in polychrome prints in the second half of the 11th century, and also provided a new marble floor.
